THE CHRISTMAS ROOM
BREAKING FREE
After waking up at 5 a.m. I proceeded with my usual routine of laying on my back, slow belly breathing, and focusing on my third eye chakra. As my mind began to drift back off to sleep I observed the spontaneous imagery behind my closed eyes. Soon I once again felt the faint vibrations in my forehead. The sensation felt as if there was a mild electrical current touching my skin. The sensation grew stronger as I laid there and passively observed while trying not to get too excited.
Once the vibrations seemed to reach their peak I decided to attempt the roll out method to leave my physical body. As I mentally imagined myself rolling out of the bed I soon found my awareness on the floor. This felt so “real” that I actually thought that my physical body had fallen out of bed! After standing up I noticed my physical body still laying quietly under the covers in bed. I became excited realizing that I was experiencing another OBE and I decided to explore the environment.
I found myself in a home that was not my physical home but it somehow seemed familiar. It felt as if it were a close relatives home. I ventured into a kitchen-like area and found 3 people sitting around a table having breakfast. Two young men were reading newspapers and a young woman was sitting quietly drinking coffee. They did not seem to notice me as if I were an invisible ghost. I asked them who they were and they ignored me completely. Feeling frustrated and insulted, I decided to test a new OBE skill to get their attention. I stretched out my arm as if it were made of rubber and grabbed a drink off of the table. feeling somewhat playful I dumped the glass of liquid on the woman’s head. Surprisingly she did not seem to notice and only gave a brief glance in my direction. It seems I could not get their attention and so I continued to explore.
LEAP OF FAITH
I came upon a deep stairwell with many floor level spiraling downward. Instead of walking down the many stairs I took a leap of faith and jumped into the stairwell. After floating briefly at the top opening, I did eventually float softly downwards. I went downward passed several floors until I settled into what seemed to be the basement.
THE CHRISTMAS ROOM
This area resembled a shopping mall with many hallways and rooms expanding out in all directions. I eventually found a room that was beautifully adorned with Christmas decorations. There were two fireplaces on adjacent walls, a glowing Christmas tree, and red garland hanging from the ceiling. I felt love and warmth from this room and I thought that it doesn’t get much more “Christmassy” than this! While enjoying the scene I could feel my mind returning to my physical body and soon I was awake in bed.
As with my other experiences, my mental awareness was as acute as waking awareness at the beginning of this OBE. As I progressed it became more “dreamlike” but I did manage to maintain cognizance much sharper than a traditional dream. I now realize that with my lucid dreams/out of body experiences I am seeking something spiritual. Perhaps this is what the Christmas room represented with its intense feeling of love and warmth. I felt an inner joy that lasted for several days after this experience!
